Considering how many hours she works each week (sometimes up to 80), it may come as a surprise for some to learn that Abbott is a new mother. Abbott, her husband, and 5-month-old son recently moved to Robbinsdale – a suburb of Minneapolis. They love the small-town feeling and welcoming atmosphere of the community. It’s perfect, she said, for raising her son.
“Minnesota Nice” is precisely one of the reasons Abbott decided to come to the University of Minnesota. Another reason is the flexibility her program provides her to pursue basic and clinical science research. It’s a “best of both worlds” situation for Abbott.
