Prospective Students
Each year RPAP places up to 40 students in rural communities for a continual nine-month experience. Students work under the direct supervision of board-certified comunity preceptors and other specialists in the community hospital and clinic. Students earn both elective and required course requirements during this time. Students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience participate in the program.

- 36 credits; up to 24 required course credits may be fulfilled depending on site

- Examine and treat a large number of patients ranging from newborn to elderly
Requirements
- A student should be a motivated, independent learner
- Must pass the USMLE Step I Board Exam
- Solid academic performance in undergraduate and medical school courses; no incomplete coursework or failures
- Must successfully complete Medicine I and Women’s Health externships prior to RPAP
- Immunization schedule must be up-to-date
