UMMC GME Update 4/11/2012: Epic Training: FV epic training will be provided online through UofMN Moodle. I will send a link to all coordinators mid to late May to provide to your incoming residents and fellows. The link will also be posted on the GME website. Coordinators will also be added to the Moodle site. If you are interested in having your residents or fellows complete an in-class training please let me know and we can schedule a time for your group of residents or fellows. Beginning in June, every Friday morning an epic inpatient provider class will be available. UMP Epic Training-There is a test out option for ambulatory outpatient epic and an in-classroom training option. Ambulatory outpatient classes are available every Monday afternoon in Mayo D-198. Please contact UmpEpicTraining@umphysicians.umn.edu for either enrolling into a class or the test out option.
Epic Access: Epic access requests will begin to be submitted in May. Please be sure that your residents and fellows have been set up with a caregiver number. Epic access cannot be generated without a caregiver number. Please either email me the caregiver numbers or enter them into RMS. Epic access requests do not need to be submitted to UMP for ambulatory access, unless your fellows are only in an outpatient setting and are never in the hospital, otherwise the requests FV completes for Epic access will also provide them access in the clinics. Pager numbers: If you have not submitted your information to Lana at telecommunications for pagers please do so as soon as possible. Pager numbers are needed for setting up access information. Once all programs have been set up with pagers, telecommunications will provide a list of all numbers which will then be entered into RMS. NPI Numbers: Please have all NPI numbers entered into RMS by the end of June. NPI numbers are used by Pharmacy as an identifier when residents and fellows use the hospital DEA number to prescribe. Meal Cards: Meal card spreadsheets and detailed instructions will be emailed directly to each program to complete over the next few weeks. Meal cards can be used in the cafeterias on both the University and Riverside Campus. The physician lounge on the Riverside campus and Bambini’s Coffee shop in the Riverside East building also accepts meal cards. Food is brought up every morning and late afternoon/evening to the resident’s lounge in the University hospital 6 th floor room 6-501. Fairview ID Badges: All incoming residents and fellows will need a Fairview ID badge. Residents that are scheduled for BLS during orientation will be taken during that time to receive their FV ID Badge. Residents and fellows who will not be completing BLS certification during orientation will need to go to either the University Parking/ID office, Mayo B-340 or the Riverside parking/ID office, MB218 for an ID badge. If you will be sending your residents and fellows to the parking/ID office as a group please send myself and/or RJ, RWRIGHT3@fairview.org, an email to set up a time for your group for badges. Please note id/badges at the University parking/ID office will be ready for pick up the following day after pictures are taken and must be picked up by the resident or fellow (coordinators may not pick up badges on behalf of the residents and fellows). Residents and fellows will need to have a photo id (US driver’s license, passport, etc) with them in order to receive a FV ID badge. Parking/ID office hours for badges: Mayo B340: 7:30am-3:30pm (closed 1-2pm) Riverside-East building MB218: 8am-4pm
Parking: Residents and fellows may set up after-hours parking on the University and Riverside campus. They will need to provide a $25 refundable deposit. The parking policy is attached for additional information on parking. Parking office hours: Mayo B340: 7:30am-4pm (closed 1-2pm) Riverside-East building MB218: 7:30am-4:30pm Badge Access-Security: The parking/ID office does not handle badge access. Badge access requests are handled through the security office. Requests for door access can only be made once a resident or fellow has had their badge created. To request access send an email to security@fairview.org and cc me on the request. List the areas that the resident or fellow need access to. If your residents or fellows need access to Amplatz you will need to list the floor they will be working on.
