Fei Lu, MD

Associate Professor of Medicine
Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory

Dr. Lu received his medical degree and initial training in internal medicine, cardiology, and electrophysiology from the Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in China. After expanded training at St. George’s Hospital Medical School (London, UK), the Krannert Institute of Cardiology at Indiana University (Indianapolis, IN), and the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center (Chicago, IL), Dr. Lu joined the University of Minnesota faculty.

Dr. Lu’s experiences as an academic electrophysiologist encourage his continued dedication to clinical and research activities. His research encompasses all levels, from single-cell to clinical. His clinical practice seeks to relieve pain and discomfort, and to prolong life. In addition to implanting pacemakers and defibrillators, Dr. Lu’s specific clinical interests include:

  • Cardiac pacing for heart failure
  • State-of-the-art catheter ablation for complex cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia
