Nacide Ercan-Fang

Staff Physician, VAMC and Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Minnesota

Research Interests and areas of potential collaboration:

Carbohydrate metabolism in general and Glycogen Metabolism in the liver specifically.

Projects Underway:

1) Uric acid may regulate glycogenolysis in the liver: Career developement grant, studying effect of uric acid on phosphorylase regulation

2) Effects of indole derivative compounds on phosphorylase is a colloborative project with Pfizer, Inc

3) Identification of the caffeine binding site in liver glycogen phosphorylase. A new project submitted.
