About the Center for Health Equity
The Center for Health Equity (CHE), established in 2009, is an NIH designated Comprehensive Center of Excellence in Minority Health and Health Disparities, 1P60MD003422 (PI Ahluwalia) from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. Directed by Jasjit S. Ahluwalia, MD, MPH., the Center for Health Equity is a part of a network of more than 20 centers that focus on the elimination of disparities with the goal of achieving equity. In 2012, CHE center integrated into the NIH CTSA funded Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI), strengthening the University’s efforts to promote health equity in Minnesota.
The Center is comprised of four cores: Administrative, Community Engagement and Outreach, Research, Research Training and Education.
