Educational Background
Dr. Leonard earned her doctoral degree in health services research, her masters degree in public health, and her bachelor's degrees in nursing.

Brief Biography
Barbara Leonard, PhD, RN, FAAN is a Professor in the School of Nursing and served as core faculty for the Center for Spirituality and Healing since its inception. She was Director of Graduate Studies for five years and a member of an interdisciplinary team that created on-line resources for the Center.
She currently is Professor of Long-Term Care of Children in the School of Nursing and is Director of the Center for Children with Special Health Care Needs. The Center has been continuously funded by HRSA since 1993.
Dr. Leonard teaches a course in the care of children with special health care needs as well as an online grant-writing course in the School of Nursing. She has advised hundreds of students at the master¿s and doctoral level in the completion of their research projects. Dr. Leonard earned her doctoral degree in health services research, her masters degree in public health, and her bachelor's degrees in nursing. She is certified as a spiritual director and she is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
