Brief Biography
Linda L. Halcón, PhD, MPH, RN is a faculty member of the Center for Spirituality & Healing and Director of Graduate Studies for Graduate Minor in Complementary Therapies and Healing Practices. She is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Integrative, Global & Public Health Co-operative in the School of Nursing and an adjunct faculty member in the School of Public Health (epidemiology).
Dr. Halcón is engaged in a research program to test tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) as a treatment for wounds with Staphylococcus aureus. She completed a pilot feasibility study and a recruitment pilot study in preparation for studies to determine mechanisms of action and efficacy. Dr. Halcón recently completed an NIH-NINR funded project using a Health Realization stress and coping intervention among Somali and Oromo trauma survivors.
