Gina M. Wildey, B.S.

Junior Scientist

Gina Wildey is a Junior Scientist at the Diabetes Institute for Immunology and Transplantation (DIIT).  She graduated in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics, Cell Biology and Development and in Physiology from the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota.  Her current research is focused on type 2 diabetic stresses on peripheral tissue cells. 

Last summer, she was awarded the Women in High Places Award which was coordinated by Barri Blauvelt and her company (Innovara).  Gina started working at the DIIT as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in February 2002, working with the islet transplant coordinators and nurses.  Her future plans include applying to graduate school.
