DMRI Pilot Study Program The purpose of this funding program is to foster the development of research initiatives directly linked to and supporting the DMRI’s strategic goal of promoting growth and excellence in translational and clinical research. It is also intended to further promote collaborative interdisciplinary efforts. The immediate goal is to leverage this funding program to help investigators compete for national peer-reviewed funding opportunities.

Previously Funded DMRI Pilot Studies The DMRI awarded its first round of pilot funding in July of 2008 and awarded almost $40,000 in seed grants to four promising medical research projects in Duluth. Three of the following grantees have been awarded RO1's from the National Institutes of Health.
