Gifts for Research
Supporting the Duluth Medical Research Institute (DMRI) help our scientists access and utilize the latest scientific technology and methods, advance new ways to improve our understanding of disease processes and develop novel potential treatments. The scientists at the DMRI use state-of-the-art genetic, biochemical, and adult stem cell techniques to better understand and treat a variety of diseases or conditions including cancer, Alzheimer's disease, psychiatric disorders, and addiction. Your charitable gifts to the DMRI support: - Educational research opportunities for medical and graduate students
- Postdoctoral fellowships to help students develop their scientific careers
- New investigators who require start-up costs for new research programs
- Scientists who need bridge funding between grants so that their programs continue productively without losing momentum
- The purchase of advanced scientific equipment and the support of services necessary to perform cutting-edge preclinical and clinical research
