About the DMRI

MISSION
The DMRI will link scientists from multiple preclinical and clinical biomedical fields to forge innovative biomedical and health research programs. DMRI scientists will translate new knowledge and develop preclinical and clinical research informing further research in each domain. The DMRI will facilitate interactions among academics, clinical scientists, and community clinicians to improve use and access to discoveries in medical sciences.

VISION
Our vision is to develop a nationally respected medical research institute, building on the University of Minnesota's record of excellence in biomedical and clinical research and on existing areas of expertise, while attracting outstanding multidisciplinary scientists to conduct innovative translational research.

We will provide unique opportunities for graduate and postgraduate research training in biomedical and clinical fields.
