Message from Interim Regional Campus Dean Alan Johns

Welcome to the Duluth Regional Campus. We have a 42-year tradition of training rural family medicine physicians and Native American physicians. In addition, our campus has active research programs in biomedical and behavioral sciences. Each year, sixty first-year medical students are welcomed into our school. They are the future of medicine and part of our proud tradition.

These students will follow in the footsteps of more than 1,700 alumni who began their medical education on this campus. Of these alumni, nearly half are family medicine physicians practicing in rural communities of 30,000 population or less. In addition, this campus ranks second in the United States in educating Native American medical students with over 170 graduates.
