Welcome to the Duluth Medical Research Institute
The Duluth Medical Research Institute (DMRI) was established in 2007 to facilitate innovative, collaborative translational research on campus and in the community. Building on the many strengths of the Duluth research community, we envision a successful and nationally recognized translational and clinical research institute.
The DMRI is a growing endeavor and we are developing a strong environment for translational research. We encourage conversations, facilitate linkages, support innovative ideas, and provide funding for pilot grants. In addition, members have access to grant writing and submission support, laboratory space, office and clinical research space, and major facilities and equipment.
The DMRI was intentionally designed to extend beyond the medical school campus and welcomes members from across the university, local colleges, hospitals, and clinics. We believe that by working together we can bring new biomedical knowledge and technologies to the community more efficiently, leading to improved quality of life for all.
