First RFP Issued by Duluth Medical Research Institute
March 2008 The new Duluth Medical Research Institute (DMRI) is issuing its first Request for Proposals (RFP). The Institute will provide up to six internal grant awards for research projects that involve any level of scientific inquiry, e.g., molecular, genetic, preclinical, clinical, epidemiologic, public health policy or combinations of levels and disciplines. Future requests for proposals will be issued at least twice a year based on availability of funding. Application deadline is Wednesday, April 30, 2008 by 3:00 PM.
The purpose of this funding program is to foster development of research initiatives directly linked to and supporting the DMRI strategic goal of promoting growth and excellence in basic and clinical research. It is also intended to further promote collaborative interdisciplinary efforts. The immediate goal is to leverage these grants to help investigators compete for national peer-reviewed funding opportunities.
