June 12, 2007 Duluth, MN Twenty-three high school students from Duluth, Proctor, Two Harbors and Esko visited the Medical School Campus in Duluth today. They were participating in the second annual North Shore Health Occupations Today (HOT) program sponsored by the Northeast Minnesota Area Health Education Center.
HOT is a three-day, exciting, fast-paced program designed for high-ability high
school students who have an interest in healthcare careers. Students engage in hands-on learning, presentations, tours and academic planning.
Over the three days, the students went to the Two Harbors Fire/Rescue, Lake View Memorial Hospital & Home, St. Luke’s, SMDC, University of Minnesota Medical School--Duluth Campus and Lake Superior College.

Partners in the HOT program were: Iron Range Resources, Lake View Memorial Hospital & Home, Lake Superior College, North Shore Trade & Tech Project, St. Luke’s, SMDC Health System, STC- Secondary Technical Center, and the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and School of Medicine on the Duluth Campus.
