Graduate Student Club

The graduate student club holds monthly meetings with presentations on graduate student research and topics of interest and concern.

It is intended to be an open forum for graduate students to voice their opinions and concerns as well as a candid discussion of their and other people’s research. It is also the goal of the graduate club to provide students with tools to find information and sources of expertise on various research techniques as well as career guidance and planning.

The graduate student club also gives students the opportunity to invite and host prominent members of the research community as guest speakers in the Medical School and Academic Health Center Seminar Series.

The club welcomes all graduate students from the medical school as well as students from any other graduate programs conducting research in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, and similar fields.

Current club officers:

  • Vice President: Bethany Nelson, nels5005@umn.edu
  • Treasurer: Ahmed Salem, sale0074@d.umn.edu
