Faculty Michelle Biros, MD, Director of Research and Vice Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine, was elected to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) at their annual meeting on October 12, 2009. The IOM selects up to 65 new members each year who are chosen for their excellence and professional achievement. Electon to the IOM is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of medicine and health. See the AHC news realease. Louis J. Ling, M.D., Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, will be honored with the University of Minnesota Medical School's Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Ling and two others are being recognized for outstanding contributions to their local, regional or national community through medical practice, teaching, research or other humanitarian activities. |
