BARI 2D Clinical Trial

The Bypass Angioplasty Revascularization Investigation 2 Diabetes study proposes to evaluate treatments for Type 2 diabetic patients with angiographically proven coronary artery disease and stable angina or ischemia. BARI is funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Who Is Eligible to Join?

Men and Women with type 2 diabetes who have:

  • Coronary heart disease
  • Otherwise good health
  • Willingness to come to clinic visits for at least 5 years to keep diabetes under good control

Dr. John Bantle is Co-Principal Investigator at the University of Minnesota.
