Epidemiology of Diabetes Intervention and Complications
Completed in 1993, the National Institutes of Health funded DCCT demonstrated that intensive treatment of type 1 diabetes protects against eye, kidney, and neuropathic complications. Follow-up of the DCCT volunteers continues in EDIC. EDIC will examine the relationship between type 1 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Enrollment in DCCT/EDIC is closed.
