Our physiciansare committed to delivering medical care that combines excellence, service and compassion with innovative research and educational programs. Patient care at Fairview-University Medical Center is often delivered by teams that include a University of Minnesota physician as well as additional physicians at various stages of training. The faculty physician is responsible for all aspects of your care, either directly or in conjunction with residents and fellows.

A medical fellow is a medical doctor who has completed training in general internal medicine and is pursuing in-depth training in a more specific area of internal medicine, such as endocrinology or rheumatology. A resident physician is a medical doctor who is in a three-year program of intensive training in internal medicine. A medical student is an individual studying to become a medical doctor. You will always be seen by a faculty physician. He or she will work as a team with the nursing, pharmacy, dietary and other health care professionals to deliver the highest quality medical care possible.
