Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship
The University of Minnesota Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship is a fully accredited clinical program with both adult and pediatric curriculum. We have a 100% board pass rate. Up to three fellows are accepted per year. Sponsors Eligibility Criteria Fellow applicants must be able to meet all requirements to be enrolled in a housestaff training program under the policies of the University of Minnesota GMEC. 1. Applicants who have completed, or are completing, an ACGME-accredited family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or medicine/pediatrics residency program will be given priority; however any applicant who is potentially "board-eligible" for HPM board certification such as graduates from accredited physical medicine and rehabilitation, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency medicine, radiology, and anesthesiology residencies are eligible for admission to the fellowship at the discretion of the program director and the selection committee. 2. Applicants must have U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, or be in possession of a J-1 visa at the time of application. 3. Fellows must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted Minnesota medical license and DEA registration. 4. Applicants must have graduated from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), OR a. Graduated from a college of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), OR b. Graduated from a medical school outside the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico with one of the following: i. A currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), ii. OR an unrestricted license or residency permit to practice medicine in Minnesota, iii. OR successful completion of a Fifth Pathway Program in an LCME-accredited medical school in the United States To Apply The fellowship is registered with ERAS; applicants are encouraged to apply through ERAS, but are not required to (see the Apply page).
