Country Doctor Revisited

In spring 2011, Therese Zink, MD, MPH, received funding from the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine for The Country Doctor Revisited: A Twenty-First Century Reader book discussion groups.

Two hundred medical students from 10 schools around the U.S. began meeting this fall. Sites include Florida State, University of Kentucky, University of California Davis, University of Missouri, Ohio State, University of Indiana, State University of New York Upstate, University of North Dakota, Mountain Area Health Education Center Hendersonville Family Health Center, and University of Iowa.

Zink also launched a blog geared toward students on rural rotations or with interest in rural medicine. Entries highlight selections from the book. Check it out at http://thecountrydoctorrevisited.wordpress.com.
