- Eli Coleman, PhD, discussed the current science on sexual orientation in the Star Tribune article “Pawlenty likes Gaga, but disputes that gays are 'Born This Way’” on July 12, 2011.
- Michael Miner, PhD, appeared on WCCO news to discuss the sexual offender registry on May 27, 2011, in a segment titled “Sex-Offender Laws Keep Minn. Man ‘Down’ 17 Years After.”
- Walter Bockting, PhD, served on the Institute of Medicine committee that authored a report encouraging researchers to proactively engage lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in health studies and collect data on these populations to identify and better understand health conditions that affect them. On April 5, 2011, Bockting discussed the report with MinnPost.com in an article titled, “Report calls for much more research on LGBT health issues; Q&A with U of M participant.” See report press release.
