Primary Research Theme: Rapid HIV testing
Education Activities:
Started North Memorial Clinic's Reach Out and Read program promoting early literacy by making books a routine part of pediatric care, currently funded by Target and Reach Out and Read National Center. At the well-child visit, providers educate parents about the importance of reading to the child and give child a new book.
Current Grants
MN Department of Health, "Outreach and HIV Testing" comparing conventional and rapid testing in the outreach setting.
CDC, "Outreach Using Rapid HIV Testing" testing the feasibility of doing HIV outreach in the African American community using Oraquick, an investigational rapid HIV test.
