Sports Medicine
Education  Fellowship The department sponsors a one-year, ACGME-accredited sports medicine fellowship, one of the first of its kind in the nation. Courses/Workshops Faculty teach sports and musculoskeletal medicine to residents longitudinally and direct several courses/workshops. These courses are also open to medical professionals, other residents, and medical students. Research and Scholarship Faculty are actively engaged in sports and musculoskeletal  medicine research and scholarship. - Body composition of athletes

Practice  We have specialty trained physicians providing care game-side and in the clinic and training room. Clinics Fairview Sports and Orthopedic Care - Minneapolis Orthopaedic Clinic at UMMC, Fairview Team/Event Coverage Family medicine faculty and orthopedic surgeons form the medical team for the University of Minnesota Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Faculty also provide medical coverage at the Twin Cities Marathon and serve as team physicians for the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, USA Gymnastics and Volleyball, and various high school and Division III teams.
