Alex Khoruts, M.D.
Education & TrainingDr. Khoruts has trained at the University of Minnesota. In addition to completing his fellowship in gastroenterology, he trained in immunology as a Howard Hughes physician fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Marc Jenkins in the Department of Microbiology.
He became a faculty member as an Assistant Professor in the Division in 1999. His current clinical responsibilities include endoscopic services, and inpatient consults. He is a member of our multidisciplinary inflammatory bowel disease group. In addition, he has special interest in the eosinophilic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology, 1998.
He is a faculty member in the Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology (MICaB). His main research program is focused on T cell homeostasis and pathogenesis of allergic diseases, such as eczema and eosinophilic esophagitis.
