Biography Dr. Duran Nelson graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Medicine in 1999. She completed her residency training at the University of Minnesota in Internal Medicine in 2002 and completed a year as the chief resident at the University of Minnesota in 2003. She worked in private practice for 5 1/2 years as a women's health physician. Dr. Duran-Nelson is interested in the preventive care of men and women and managing complex medical conditions, such as autoimmune disease. She is invested in patient education and using the electronic record as a tool for improving patient care and satisfaction. Dr. Duran-Nelson is currently the Director of the Internal Medicine residency program. She is interested in resident and medical student education and curriculum development.
