Biography
Dr. Bearman received her doctorate from the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota. She completed an internship in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult health psychology at the University of Minnesota Medical School, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in adult health psychology. In her current work as a clinical health psychologist she works with outpatients and medical inpatients faced with a variety of psychological issues related to both acute and chronic medical and physical conditions. Particular clinical interests include: psychological issues related to ALS, bone marrow transplant, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, diabetes, neurological disorders, pulmonary disorders, organ transplant, physical disability and rehabilitation, stress management; coping with new medical diagnoses; end-of-life issues; effects of illness on family members and caregivers.
