Biography
Tracie Collins, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She is board certified in internal medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Following completion of her internal medicine residency training at the University of Oklahoma, she completed a two-year Clinical and Research Fellowship in Ambulatory Care and General Internal Medicine, Harvard Affiliated Hospitals. During her fellowship, she focused on outcomes in surgical patients using large national VA database involving over 80,000 patients. Since completion of her fellowship, she has focused on vascular disease and health disparities in outcomes. Today, she continues to study the epidemiology, process of care, and outcomes for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Her long-term goals are 1) to improve outcomes for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), 2) to eliminate racial disparities in outcomes, and 3) to improve self-management behavior among patients with PAD and other chronic diseases.
