Weekend Infusion Center Criteria

1. Uninterrupted infusion therapy (example: IV antibiotics, immunosuppression agents, steroid tapers, etc.)
2. Fresh discharges from the hospital
3. All patients must have scheduled appointments
4. All blood transfusion needs must have a Type and Cross-match drawn at the time of scheduling
5. Initially no procedures (such as kidney biopsies, bone marrow biopsies, or paracentesis)
6. No chemotherapy
7. No walk-in patients
8. All scheduled appointments must have:
   • Orders and physician contact information for further patient care needs or questions to be answered
   • SBAR note if orders sent by RN in All-scripts

* Criteria will evolve as directed by volumes and recurrent themes arise.

                                 Sunday      7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

                                 Holidays     7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Please note that all services provided will be on a first come first serve basis.
• Patients will need to be prioritized if demand exceeds capacity.
• All requests must be accompanied by signed physician orders and weekend physician contact information in the event of further patient care needs.
• No procedures, chemotherapy or walk-in patients.
• Scheduling will be handled by the Transplant center procedure room staff and decision making for accepting patients will be conducted by the patient care supervisor.
• Staffed by:
  1. 1 RN from Masonic day hospital
  2. 1 RN from Transplant center
  3. 1 CMA or NST from Transplant center
