Mastering Clinical Information modules: This is a series of Breeze taped sessions that Jim Pacala, M.D., has created for the medical student Physician and Society Course. Dr. Pacala is allowing us to offer them for resident education as well. Quality Improvement modules*: This is a series of web modules that illustrate the major steps in conducting quality improvement. The modules were developed by the Healthcare Improvement Skills Center at the Academy of Post Graduate Health Care Education. PROFESSIONALISM AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
"203 Days" module*: This is a short video (approximately 25 minutes) that documents the last days of an oncology patient's life. This is an award-winning documentary by Bailey Barash. The video illustrates the patient's decline and her family's responses to her health condition. This video has been provided to the University of Minnesota courtesy of bbarash productions, LLC. This could be used as discussion starter in addressing the psychosocial aspects of palliative care.

AMA Virtual Mentor: The American Medical Association has developed an online ethics "journal" that features cases and discussion questions that illustrate many clinical ethical issues. These cases can be used in small group or conference discussions, or as items in formal ethics teaching. The link below features the case list in alphabetical topic order.

SYSTEMS-BASED PRACTICE:
Health Care Financing module*: This is a Breeze taped presentation developed by Dr. James Pacala as part of the medical student Physician and Society Course. Dr. Pacala provides an overview of Medicare and illustrates issues of practice that are impacted by this financing.

VA Patient Safety Curriculum: The VA sponsors the National Center for Patient Safety (NCSF). The NCSF has developed a comprehensive curriculum in patient safety. The link below features an overview of the topics and associated teaching materials. These materials are suitable for use in didactic sessions and in conjunction with case discussions to illustrate concepts in patient safety error reduction.

ARHQ Morbidity and Mortality Web Rounds: The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has developed a web forum for discussion of clinical events. These modules can be used as discussion prompts and to provide teaching material to illustrate principles of patient safety.
