With recent (7.1.2007) changes in the ACGME common program requirements, programs are required to have goals and objectives for each major rotation and “learning experience (i.e. continuity clinic experience). The goals and objectives are to be competency-based and specific to each educational level (year of training). The goals and objectives must be distributed to residents and faculty each and should be reviewed by the resident at the start of each rotation. We have modified a template that the ACGME developed for creating rotation goals and objectives. This provides a framework for developing or revising rotation objectives.
