University of Minnesota Medical School (UMMS) Graduate Medical Education Policy: NRMP Fees Policy and Procedure | Policy # | Original Approval: 2.26.10 | Effective Date: | Approved by GMEC: 2.26.10 | Revision Date: 2.1.10 | Distribution: R/F; PD; PC; CSC; ACD Institution Policy Manual; GME website | Policy Owner: GME Administration |
Purpose To outline how the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) fees are managed between Graduate Medical Education Administration and the programs participating in the NRMP Match. Current NRMP Fees: - Hospital Registration Fee = 175.00
- Program Registration Fee = 30.00
- Matched Applicant Fee = 30.00 (per matched applicant)
Policy/Procedure GME Administration Responsibility The Designated Institution Official and a GME staff member are responsible for managing all NRMP requests for quota changes, program additions, withdrawals, change in program director and the management of the NRMP fees. GME Administration receives invoices from the NRMP and is responsible for the payment of the Hospital Registration Fee and the Main Match Program Registration Fees. GME also initially pays the Main Match Matched Applicant Fees which are then cross-charged back to the departments/programs by the Medical School Finance Department. Subspecialty programs participating in the NRMP are responsible for the Hospital Registration Fee, the Program Registration Fee as well as their Matched Applicant Fees. GME Administration will forward the NRMP Fee statements to the Education Manager of that Department for processing. In the event that there is not an Education Manager the invoices will be sent to the program coordinator with a copy to the program director for processing Program Responsibility It is essential that NRMP fees are paid by the department/program in a timely manner. Delinquent payments will result in the Institution not having access to activate programs in the system thereby jeopardizing the ability of all programs to participate in the Match. Programs who receive an overdue fee notice must ensure that the invoice is paid immediately. Reviewed: 3.12
