Orientation 2008

GME ORIENTATION 2008

DATES:    Wednesday, June 18, 2008 and Wednesday, July 2, 2008

LOCATION:    second floor, Moos-Tower (map)

TIME:  7:00 a.m. - Noon

On June 18th, GME Orientation begins with continental breakfast followed by various presentations, including respirator fit testing.  Presentations conclude at Noon.

July 2nd, For RESIDENTS ONLY - GME Orientation begins with continental breakfast followed by various presentations, including respirator fit testing.  Presentations conclude at Noon.

July 2nd, For FELLOWS ONLY - GME orientation begins with continental breakfast, followed by respirator fit testing, and a modified Resident Educator Development (RED Program) session.  Orientation concludes at 10:30 a.m. for this session only!

by the end of first month of training ECFMG Certificate All IMG's must have their "valid indefinitely" ECFMG Certificate on file through MMCGME Services.   Program Coordinator to forward copy to MMCGME Services for entry in to RMS

by the end of the first month of training program ECFMG Acculturation Website: "The One Dozen Most Important Things You May Not Have Known, Understood, or Realized About American Medicine" Review for important information specific to the American medical system. This is purely information and for the IMG's benefit; no tracking or routing required.    
by the end of the first month of training program ECFMG Acculturation Website: "Medicalese' Glossary" Review for important terms and slang used in the hospital/clinical setting. This is purely informational and for the IMG's benefit; no tracking or routing required.    
by the end of first year of training program GME Core Curriculum offerings in WebVista These are resources for core competencies, as required by ACGME. View each module and complete each follow-up survey to receive credit. GME will track participation and inform Program Coordinator when completed.

GME will track participation and inform Program Coordinator when completed.
