Benefits: 457 Deferred Compensation Plan

Trainees in classifications (9554, 9555, 9556 and 9559) are eligible to participate in the University of Minnesota 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, which is a tax deferred retirement plan that is funded exclusively by resident/fellow contributions.  For more information on the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, contact employee Benefits at 612-624-9090.

Trainees that are funded by a National Research Services Award (NRSA) grant (9582, 9583, 9668 and 9596) are considered non-service fellows and therefore are not eligible to participate in 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.
