Benefits: Optional Retirement Contribution

Trainees in classifications (9554, 9555, 9556, and 9559) are eligible to participate in the University of Minnesota 403(b) optional retirement plan by authorizing the University to deduct a specified amount from their payroll check each pay period for this purpose.  The University makes no contributions to the plan.  For information on how to establish an optional retirement plan, contact Employee Benefits at 612-624-9090.

Trainees that are funded by a National Research Services Award (NRSA) grant (9582, 9583, 9568, and 9569) are considered non-service fellows and therefore are not eligible to participate in the optional retirement plan.
