7000 Level Courses Offered in the History of Medicine (Intended for Medical Students)


Professors Eyler and Gunn give historical lectures in the following first and second year classes: Anatomy, Physician and Society, Physiology, Human Behavior, and Pathophysiology.

The following elective is offered to third and fourth year medical students:

HMed 7500  Historical Research for Medical Students (3-6 credits; S-N only)

Students will undertake independent historical research on a topic of their choice under the supervision of a faculty member of the Program in the History of Medicine. Training will include an introduction to standard bibliographic and archival sources, the selection of topics, the use of historical evidence and the preparation of an historical interpretation.
