Marcie Tomblyn, M.D.


Dr. Tomblyn

Dr. Tomblyn is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation, Department of Medicine.  Dr. Tomblyn completed her MD degree in 1997 at the University of Kentucky.  She completed an Accelerated Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky in 1999 and stayed an additional year as a Chief Resident.  Dr. Tomblyn then completed a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Northwestern University in 2003 and a year as a fellow in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation at Northwestern University in 2004.  She also obtained a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation at Northwestern University in 2004.

Dr. Tomblyn’s clinical interest is in the treatment of hematological malignancies using immunotherapy and stem cell transplantation.  She has particular interests in the supportive management of patients undergoing transplantation, transplant management of lymphoma, infections post-transplant, immune recovery post-transplant and the management of Graft versus Host Disease (GVHD).  In addition to her work at the University, she is an Assistant Scientific Director with the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) for the Infection and Immune Reconstitution Working Committee.  She is also the Chair of the Clinical Trials Advisory Committee of the Resource for Clinical Investigation in Blood and Marrow Transplant (RCI BMT) for the CIBMTR and a member of the Data Coordinating Center of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN).
