Minneapolis VAMC

The VAMC is a 300 bed acute medical-surgical hospital which is also a tertiary referral center for the VA in the six-state area.  The hospital is clinically active in areas of renal transplantation, hematology-oncology, and general medicine and surgery, which provide a constant source of interesting and challenging problems for infectious disease consultation.  The infectious diseases section works closely with the clinical microbiology laboratory at the VAMC. Also, Infection Control is an integral component of the VA experience.
