To address the need for ethnic and gender diversity within the Infectious Diseases workforce and to provide a more diverse peer group for Infectious Diseases fellows, our fellowship program actively promotes careers in Infectious Diseases to minority premedical and medical students and emphasizes ethnic and gender diversity when selecting new fellows.
Recent University of Minnesota Infectious Diseases fellows (adult and pediatric) have represented the following ethnicities (gender):
Brazilian (male)
Chinese-American (female)
Filipino (female)
Ghanaian (female)
