Step 1

Visit the International Medical Education and Research (IMER) Program Office, located in Room B685 Mayo Building (612-625-7933), for information regarding:

1.         Participating sites and University of Minnesota faculty members who will
            serve as advisors in this Program;

2.         Advice regarding travel awards, safety and liability, immunizations, and
            language and culture issues;

3.         Requirements for credit.

Step 2

Contact the IMER Program Office (imer@umn.edu) to confirm the site you have chosen, the dates of your elective, and include the name of the foreign site mentor/supervisor.

Upon your return…

Within 30 days of your return, visit the IMER Program Office to submit your written report of your experience and to provide any additional information you believe would be useful for students who may be interested in this site/experience.
