University of Minnesota
Lillehei Clinical Research Unit
The Lillehei Clinical Research Unit (LCRU) is located on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota campus in the Variety Club Heart and Research Center at 401 East River Road. We are attached to the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview in the heart of the Medical School campus. This innovative trials center conducts research in all aspects of cardiovascular disease and its prevention. We recruit study participants from Minnesota and nationally to help answer critical questions about new treatment modalities, innovative medical devices, and disease prevention strategies.
The University of Minnesota Cardiology faculty offices are just one floor above the LCRU. Our faculty are leading experts within their sub-specialties, and bring that breadth of knowledge to cardiovascular research. Together with our Community Practice Cardiologists located at Fairview Southdale in Edina MN we have 48 Cardiologists participating in Clinical Trials.
