"Stem Cell Path Therapy in Hearts with LV Infarction - Fibrin Patch to Prevent Heart Failure"
Mentor: Jianyi Zhang, M.D., Ph.D.

Nicole Iverson is a University of Minnesota senior. She is completing her degree in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in cellular and tissue engineering. She is also obtaining a minor in math and chemistry.

Nicole is working under Dr. Jay Zhang on a project that will place stem cells on the heart through the use of a fibrin-based patch at the site of an infarct. Nicole is also involved in a collaboration project in which other patch materials will be tested as a delivery method for the cells.
