Xinqiang Han, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Han received his M.D. and M.Sc. at Henan Medical University, China and Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Dalhousie University, Canada. He completed medicine residency in China and also acomplished clinical medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He then went to the University of Minnesota Cardiology Program for General Cardiology fellowship. He completed Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at UMN Cardiology by June, 2005.

Dr. Han is the author of 40 journal articles (21 articles as first or corresponding author) and at least 23 abstracts. He was appointed Instructor of Medicine from 1994 to1996 and Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1996 to 1999 at Brigham and Women¿s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Han is also a finalist of the Young Investigator Award at 2003 American College of Cardiology convention and a winner of both 2002 and 2003 national Cardiology Fellow¿s Forum of Excellence preceeding the American Heart Association annual convention.

Dr. Han¿s major research interests focus on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias and antiarrhythmic therapies. This includes stem cell transdifferentiated cell transplant and its related arrhythmogenesis. Dr. Han¿s main clinical interests include radiofrequency ablation of various types of arrhythmias, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and management, and diagnosis and treatment of syncope patients.
