Thesis Research:
We are interested in the translational control of cancer which has recently has been shown to be a potential down stream point of conversion in malignant transformation. Currently, we are starting a study of lung cancer induced by tobacco carcinogen in transgenic mice that lacks the 4E binding protein. Presumably, if translational control is involved in lung cancer, the transgenic mice will be more susceptible to carcinogenic malignant transformation.
