How to Become a Preceptor

APPLICATION FOR PRECEPTORSHIP IN THE MD/PhD PROGRAM

Applicants must submit:

  1. an updated NIH biosketch or CV that includes a listing of external grant support, and

  2. a cover letter describing the applicant's research mentoring experience as a faculty member, current graduate program affiliation, and a brief description of potential research opportunities for MD/PhD students.

Material can be submitted electronically (mdphd@umn.edu) or as a hard copy to room B690 in the Mayo Building.  Applications will then be reviewed and voted on by the MD/PhD Program Steering Committee.  For a list of steering committee members, click here.
