Current First-Year Medical or Graduate School Students
Students currently enrolled in their first year of medical school or graduate school at the University of Minnesota can also apply to the MD/PhD Program. They will be evaluated by the same criteria as all other applicants. However, they are strongly encouraged to meet with the Program Director before applying. Students in their second year of medical school who are interested in applying to the MD/PhD Program represent a special case. They are REQUIRED to meet with the Program Director before applying since the Director must grant approval for them to be considered.
If you currently hold an MD or a PhD you are not eligible for this Program. Applicants accepted to the MD/PhD Program must have a desire to pursue both the MD and the PhD simultaneously.
