Each year, hundreds of enthusiastic prospective medical students attend our information sessions, seminars, tours, and other activities designed to showcase the University of Minnesota Medical School experience.

During this annual day-long workshop, the medical school application process is presented from the MCAT to AMCAS to interviewing. Faculty, physicians and medical students share the challenges and rewards of pursuing a career in rural family medicine. Participants have hands-on experiences related to obstetrics and delivery, FAST ultrasound, medical imaging, heart sounds, and anatomy/pathology.
The next Rural Pre-Med Summit is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2011, on the Duluth campus.

Designed for minority and multicultural students, this Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity seminar series guides you through the many aspects of preparation for the Medical School admissions process. In September and October, the group meets weekly for 90 minutes. The timing of the meetings is designed to prepare you for the medical school application and admissions process that will take place throughout your senior year of college.
