First-time applicants to the University of Minnesota Medical School can participate in our Early Decision Program. As an EDP applicant, you’ll follow the same application process as other first-time applicants but at an accelerated pace.

If you’ve applied to the University of Minnesota Medical School before without receiving an offer, you do have opportunities to submit your application again. Our Office of Admissions will accept up to 3 applications to Medical School from any single applicant.

It is not very common for medical students to transfer between Medical Schools during their 4 years of undergraduate medical education.

Many international citizens and U.S. citizens educated outside the United States or Canada are eligible to apply to the University of Minnesota Medical School Twin Cities campus

The University of Minnesota Medical School offers opportunities to medical students from other U.S. LCME-accredited schools and select international medical schools to apply for our Visiting Medical Scholar Program.

As a visiting scholar, you may apply for selected year 3 and 4 clinical experience electives at the University of Minnesota Medical School.  You may arrange for a maximum of 2 courses, not to exceed a total of 12 weeks.
